Annika Stroka from the University of Applied Sciences Emden/Leer in Germany studying a Diploma in Business at USC Sunshine Coast
WHAT A JOURNEY!
I am Annika and I study International Business Administration in Emden which is located in Germany. During my studies, I spent one semester abroad at the University of the Sunshine Coast in Australia. Even though the education system is very different to that of my home University of Applied Sciences in Emden, it was a pleasure to study at USC. All of my courses in Australia consisted of several tasks, such as presentations, reports, group works and/or exams. In other words, I was busy during the semester. Nevertheless, with good time management skills, it was still possible to go out, to travel and to have leisure time.
The variety of courses that were offered, contributed to my decision to study at USC. The fact that I received great support not only from the lecturers but also from the uni itsel. They helped me a lot and definitely facilitated my stay in Australia.
I lived in one of the student accommodations close to the uni which was in my opinion the easiest for a short stay. Also I got to know locals as well as other internationals very quickly through my stay at UniCentral. The area surrounding the university was rather quiet so we caught the bus to nearby cities: Mooloolaba or Maroochydore to spend time at the shops or to go out. What I loved about the Sunshine Coast was the nature and the several, beautiful beaches. Furthermore the laid-back and open-minded attitude of the people made my stay in Australia unforgettable.
My experiences in Australia have been well-worth all the costs and efforts my stay required. In my opinion, Australia is a great country to study in and I would recommend the University of the Sunshine Coast to everyone who is looking for an awesome experience.
See ya guys later! 🙂
